BASIC NETWORKING CONCEPTS

                                       

About Network:

Group of two or more computers inter-connected with each other in-order to share the information aswell as resources.

Information:

Information is like take an example of internet Centers we can see all the users can connected with each other in-order to share the information, take and example one server  in the ablove diagram , all those users can access the files which was stored in that server, like Files, Web files any information those all computers can access that files this is simple we called as information.

Resources:

Resources is like take an example, of a Printer (printer is one Resource) what we can do is, we can share those printer to all the users, because we cannot  add saperate printer to each and every user so we can connect printer into the network and share that printer to all the users so that they can access that printer this is called as resource, Resources is nothing but we can share the printer or a space of the Hard Disk where we can store all the files .

And we have different types of network Like.

LAN/MAN/WAN/PAN 

Lets Try to understand different types of network.

LAN (Local Area Network)

Local Area network is a network where we can connected the devices with in same Geographical location Can be referred it as a LAN (Local Area Network )

Ex: Take a Building 

We have one building and in that building have multiple floors with respective PC's those all PC's are connected with each other in the same building so it will  reffered as "LOCAL AREA NETWORK"

WAN (Wide Area Network)

• Set of Devices connected in two or more different locations.
• Two or more Different LAN's

Wide are Network is like lets take Ex: We have one office in Hyderbad and one office in Bangalore 

these two are different lan's if we want to communicate with each other we do connect some device call routers as shown in above fig. will talk about those devices more in details later. as of now refer the diagram. and with the help of "Service providers" we will make reachability from Hyderabad to bangalore location to communicate this is called as wide area network.

MAN (Metro Politan Area Network)

• Set of devices connected in city Limits.

Metro Politan Area network is a network where the branch office connected with in the city limits will reffered as MAN.

Ex: I have one branch office in Hyderabad with this Hyderbad city limits i have few more branches like shown in fig. those all branches will  connect with some long distance cable like ex. Fiber cable with that fiber cable all these branches will connect with each other this network we called as Metro politan area network.

PAN (Personal Area Network)

• Two or more computers connected with in 4-6 meters.

In our  home we will  use this personal area network.

Like you may connect your mobiles laptops Tv etc. to your home router this network we called as Personal area Network.

INTERNET:

 The world's large biggest network called internet.

mixing all group of LAN's & WAN's

Ex: let's take an example by sitting in your office you will  access the internet.

How ? How ? you will access the internet. 

In-order to access the internet probably will contact with our local service provider, service provider will lay a line by placing some device called router will discuss abut that later.

From that router it will connected to your PC now you will open a web browser and you will type the URL path like "www.yahoo.com" how it reaches to yahoo server. yahoo might be present on some other service provider or a different country. Now here Question is ? Internet is group of LAN's & WAN's nuh ? // Yahoo server might presnt on different country or different service provider's all the service providers will keep track where is yahoo, google so your request reaches to service provider from there it reaches to internet and reaches to yahoo server and yahoo server will reply back this is the way internet will work.

1. Small Home Networks

You may have one desktop, laptop, mobile phone, these are connected with each other will referred as small home networks.

     2.Small office home office Networks (SOHO)

you may have 10 desktop computers couple of laptops one server one printer these are connected with each other these kind of network called as SOHO network.

     3. Medium to large Networks.

you have one building in that bulding have multiple floors have 100-200 employees are working in that building it will reffered as medium to large networks.

     4. World Wide Networks.

you have some branch office like in INDIA, US, DUBAI, these branches are connected with each other these kind of network called as world wide networks.
